Troop 175 news

Earlier this year Mansfield Boy Scout Troop 175 held its Court of Honor and annual Family Dinner at the Rockport Presbyterian Church.

Johnathon Hinrichs was the master of ceremonies and he did a great job. The entertainment for the event was the troops newest Eagle Scouts, James Blake and Addison Hinrichs.

Over the past year, the scouts have been working on both rank advancements and merit badges. We would like to congratulate them on working so hard on these.

Rank advancements were awarded to Brian Rozanski -- Second Class, Jimmy Farkas, Justin Hachlica, Dyllon Mills, and Ryan Rutkoski -- First Class, and Robbie Bechaud -- Life.
Merit Badges were awarded to Robbie Bechaud -- Family Life, Kyle Brands -- Citizenship in the Nation, Chris Donahue -- Nature, Evan Edwards -- Communications, and Jonathan McConnell -- Personal Management.
Scout families perform many community service projects and were awarded the Good Turn for America patch and year rocker.
The troop welcomed in their new senior patrol leader, patrol leaders, assistants and patrol members.
The scouts who recently joined the troop were welcomed and read the Promise of Scouting and Bob Clark gave a Friends of Scouting presentation.
The Scouts recognized Anne Mills upon her receiving the President's Award for the Central New Jersey Council at a recent recognition dinner for her outstanding service to the scouts in the Jenny Jump District.
Troop 175 also congratulated Mark Pettie, Jenny Jump District commissioner, on being awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Central New Jersey Council.
Boy between the ages of 11-16 who wish to join a Boy Scout Troop in the Washington-Hackettstown area, can come to a Troop 175 meeting held at the Rockport Presbyterian Church 7:30-9 p.m. Monday nights. Scout master is Linda Hughes.
