When

• Camp Barstow Week 2

• Meet at the church at 8:00am

• Check-in:  Sunday, June 18, 2023 @ 1:00pm

• Check-out:  Saturday, June 24, 2023 @ 11:00am

• Arrival to Myrtle Beach:  Arrival to Myrtle Beach approximately is approximately 3:30pm to allow for a restroom stop.)

Where

• Camp Barstow (See the Camp Barstow website for more details on the camp location.)

• Camp Barstow is on beautiful Lake Murray in Batesburg, SC

• Camp is about 3 ½ hour drive from Timberlake Baptist

What to Bring

• There is a camp store.  It has everything from ice cream, drinks, snacks, water bottles, T-shirts, camping equipment, etc. so bring your own money if you want to purchase items at camp.

About & Highlights

• Campfires and Flag Ceremonies
  Sunday is the opening campfire, Monday is the friendship campfire, and Friday is the closing campfire with recognition awards!  Patriotism and respect for our country and flag is a big component of Scouting and unites attend and participate in flag ceremonies.

• Earn Badges and Rank Up
  This summer camp has an innovative program model called the Barstow Bundles. Scouts earn complementary merit badges (usually 2-3) in a half-day program.

• Fun after 4pm
  Four days of the week, programs end at 4 PM to allow for open activities including swimming, boating, fishing, archery, an ecology boat tour, and more.

• Twilight Activities
  After supper is when camp catches it’s second wind!  Activities include star gazing, boat trips, climbing tower, gaga ball, four square, basketball, special events, and more.

• Pavilion Party
  The Tuesday night edition features hilarious karaoke. On Thursday night is the Barstow Has “Talent” Show which allows individual Scouts or troops sign up!

• Wednesday Night Program
  Get ready for some camp-wide fun with a field day competition!  We’ll also participate in the evening flag retreat with a sprit theme!

• Bull Moose Hike
  This hilarious hike is a Camp Barstow edition!  Take a guided hike by flashlight!

Summer Camp Fees

• Scouts:

  • March 1st 2023:  $100 deposit per camper is due and scouts will be able to sign up for Bundles after this deposit is made.

  • April 1, 2023:  $395  Early Bird Camper Fee

  • After April 1, 2023:  $420  Regular Camper Fee

• Adults

  • $150  Unit Leader/Adult  Fee

• Additional Fees for Certain Bundles

• $125  Barstow Adventurer (includes professional guided bass fishing trip)

  • $40    Barstow Marksman (rifle & shotgun ammo and supplies)

  • $30    Barstow Power Squadron (gas and boat maintenance)

  • $30    Barstow Angler (bait, boat gas & maintenance)

  • $20    Barstow Artisan (leatherwork kit and art supplies)

  • $20    Barstow Craftsman (basketry kit and art supplies)

How to Fund Your Camping

• Participate in Fundraising Opportunities!

  • Wreath Sales credits will be provided soon and can be used towards your camp costs!

  • For every Bojangles coupon book you sell, you will receive $4.50 towards your scout account.  If you sell 88 booklets, you’ll earn enough for summer camp (additional fees apply for certain bundles – see above).

• Parent Portal - After scouts confirm attendance, parents will have access to the Parent Portal to make payments directly to camp.
